New Speaker Information Coming!
SPEAKER: Dave Gunnlaugsson (aka “Packer Dave”)
THEME: Breathe
Our theme this year is “BREATHE”. It is important that we know our Heavenly Father gave us life and the ability to BREATHE, but it’s also important to know we became dead in rebellion, shame and fear when we choked and suffocated on our own sin. The Father then gave us new life in sending Jesus to BREATHE the last for us and to BREATHE again as He rose from the dead. Jesus now BREATHES fresh breath into us. But our breath-giving God didn’t stop there. He BREATHED His Holy Spirit into us to believe this Good News and continues, even now, for us to rest in Him and catch our breath. Jesus BREATHES His love, forgiveness and every day assurances into us not only to keep living, but to have “life abundantly!” (John 10:10).
Today, angst, anxiety, anger and anguish are the emotions that seem to be constant and consistent in our homes, our schools, our thoughts and our lives. Not only are these feelings distracting from living the life God wants for us, they’re exhausting and debilitating! Coming out of the pandemic of Covid there remains a pandemonium of weariness that hamstrings and handicaps so many of us.
The Good News is that our Savior Jesus not only knows this about us but He invites us to get rest, get refreshed, and get ready to live fully with Him and in Him. Hear again His invitation in our theme verse: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Jesus will help us “catch our breath” and get reoriented, reanimated and replenished. He will show us awesome things we call “breath-taking”. Jesus will help us to “BREATHE deeply” of His Word, His Spirit and His presence and we will be able to be free to live the lives He gives to us. I pray the following study will not only quicken your breath to serve Jesus in Word, song, witness, storytelling and relationship-building but will help you to take deep breaths of Jesus’ Spirit as well.
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
